I am indeed delighted to be in the Mizoram University campus and interact with the students and Faculty. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the teachers, students and staff of this University and all those who have contributed in promoting excellence in educational standards of this University. Today I would like to share with you the thoughts on "Enriching the Society through Education".

I am very happy to be in Mizoram particularly in your village SAIRANG. Your state is a mountainous state and has four major rivers, large biodiversity and friendly people.

Missions for Mizoram's Prosperity

I am delighted to be in this beautiful environment of Aizawl and also to get this opportunity to address the Hon'ble Members of the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram. I am very happy to be here in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly which is an institution that gives vision to the state, evolves the legal frame-work for the policies and programmes of the state and gives shape to the aspirations of the people of this state, 50% of whom live in rural areas.

When I touch the commemorative coins of 100 Rupees, 50 Rupees and 1 Rupee, I reminded of a unique experience, which I had few years back that reveals how a single leader can inspire a large population. I happened to meet, in Delhi, the grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhiji, Mrs Sumitra Kulkarni. She narrated to me an incident about her grandfather, which she personally witnessed.
