Visit To Village Sairang
Mizoram : 24.09.2005
I am very happy to be in Mizoram particularly in your village SAIRANG. Your state is a mountainous state and has four major rivers, large biodiversity and friendly people.
It has a moderate climate throughout the year, is also a home to many a rare species of birds, flora and fauna. With this climate and locale Mizoram is rich in forest, agricultural produce, bamboo, handloom, handicrafts, sericulture, and horticultural products. The literacy in Mizoram is over 88% which is next only to Kerala. With all this you are in a blessed land. I am suggesting a few missions such as bamboo, bio-fuel, horticulture, tourism, HILL PURA for implementation in MIZORAM. Particularly, I am requesting the State Government to implement the HILL PURA programme which will provide connectivity to the villagers such as physical connectivity, electronic connectivity, knowledge connectivity leading to economic connectivity. I am sure with your support the government will be able to make 20 PURAs operational in the state. These PURAs will create local enterprises which will make the MIZORAM youth employment providers rather than employment seekers.
