The President Hosts 'At Home' on the Occasion of the 63rd Republic Day

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil hosted an 'At Home' at the Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 26, 2012 on the occasion of the 63rd Republic Day. The Chief Guest at this year's Republic Day Celebrations, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra also attended the function. The Vice-President of India, Shri Hamid Ansari, the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Smt. Meira Kumar, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Mr. Justice S.H.

The President Releases Commemorative Postage Stamp on the India International Centre, New Delhi

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil released the Commemorative Postage Stamp and First Day Cover on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the India International Centre, New Delhi (IIC) at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 9, 2012. The IIC was inaugurated in 1962 by the then Vice-President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The Founder President of the Centre, Dr. C.D. Deshmukh wanted it to be a place where 'various currents of intellectual, political and economic thought could meet freely'.

Militancy Affected Children from All Districts of Jammu and Kashmir Meet The President

A group of more than 150 children affected by militancy in the State of Jammu and Kashmir met the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on February 11, 2012. The children were part of the Youth Exchange Programme called, "Waton Ko Jano" organized by the Jammu and Kashmir State Rehabilitation Council with the support of the Department of Jammu and Kashmir Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
