I am glad to be here today on the historic occasion of Constitution Day. On this day 73 years ago, the Constituent Assembly adopted this document of our collective destiny. We are commemorating today the adoption of the Constitution that has not only guided the journey of the Republic over the decades, but has also inspired several other nations in the drafting of their constitutions.

आज जे.सी. बोस विश्वविद्यालय के दीक्षांत समारोह में आप सभी के बीच उपस्थित होकर मुझे प्रसन्नता हो रही है। आज उपाधि प्राप्त करने वाले सभी विद्यार्थियों को मैं बधाई देती हूं। स्वर्ण पदक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों की मैं विशेष रूप से सराहना करती हूं। विद्यार्थियों का मार्गदर्शन करने और उनकी सफलता में निरंतर योगदान देने के लिए मैं सभी प्राध्यापकों, माता-पिता और अभिभावकों को भी बधाई देती हूं।

आज National Geoscience Awards के इस समारोह में आप सब के बीच उपस्थित होकर मुझे प्रसन्नता हो रही है। मैं Geoscience के क्षेत्र में उल्लेखनीय उपलब्धियों और अमूल्य योगदान के लिए वरिष्ठ और युवा पुरस्कार विजेताओं को बधाई देती हूं। इन पुरस्कारों के माध्यम से Geoscience के क्षेत्र में हो रही उन्नति और उससे जुड़े सभी लोगों के योगदान को मान्यता दी जाती है।

It is a pleasure to address the International Education Conference in New Zealand. It is indeed significant that India is the ‘Country of Honour’ for this year’s Conference.

आप सभी को भारत में आपके भाइयों और बहनों की ओर से हार्दिक अभिनंदन! Auckland में ऐसे जीवंत और ओजस्वी Indian community के बीच उपस्थित होना, मेरे लिए खुशी और सम्मान की बात है। आज जब मैं आपके सामने खड़ी हूं, तो मैं न्यूजीलैंड में भारतीय प्रवासियों के साहस और उपलब्धियों को देखकर गौरवान्वित हूं।

मेरे साथ, हमारे राज्य मंत्री श्री जॉर्ज कुरियन, साथ ही लोक सभा के दो सांसद, श्री सौमित्र खान और श्री जुगल किशोर भी हैं।

मैं भारत सरकार और भारत के लोगों की ओर से, आपको हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं देती हूं। मैं इस खूबसूरत देश, तिमोर-लेस्ट में आप सभी भारतीय साथियों से मिलकर बहुत खुश हूं। मैं तिमोर-लेस्ट की सरकार और यहां के लोगों को मेरे और मेरे प्रतिनिधिमंडल के गर्मजोशी भरे स्वागत और आतिथ्य के लिए धन्यवाद देती हूं।

मेरे साथ हमारे राज्य मंत्री श्री जॉर्ज कुरियन, और संसद सदस्य श्री सौमित्र खान और श्री जुगल किशोर हैं इससे पहले हमारे साथ जुड़ने और मेरे साथ विशेष बातचीत करने के लिए मैं राष्ट्रपति होर्ता की भी आभारी हूं। यह भारत और भारतीयों के प्रति उनके गहरे स्नेह की अभिव्यक्ति है, और ये भावना हमारे दिल में भी है।

I am pleased to be here in Dili, Timor-Leste. This is the first State Visit from India to Timor-Leste. My delegation and I are deeply touched by the warmth of the reception, and the generous hospitality accorded to us by President Horta and the people of Timor-Leste. I bring greetings and good wishes from the people of India to the friendly people of Timor-Leste.

It is my great honour to meet you all, the elected representatives of Fiji, in this temple of democracy. I bring to you, the greetings of 1.4 billion of your brothers and sisters in the largest democracy of the world, India.

I thank the Hon’ble Speaker for giving me this opportunity. This is a reflection of the close relations between our two countries.
