President of India to Present Shilp Guru and National Awards Tomorrow

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee will present 21 Shilp Guru and 59 National Awards to master craftspersons for the year 2012, 2013 and 2014 at a function to be held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi tomorrow (December 9, 2015).
The main objective of the Awards is to give recognition to master craftspersons for their excellence in craftsmanship and valuable contribution to Indian Handicrafts. The Shilp Guru award consist a gold coin, Rs. 2, 00, 000 in cash, a Tamrapatra, an Angavastram and a certificate while the National Award consist Rs. 1,00,000 in cash, a Tamrapatra, an Angavastram and a certificate.
