Innovation Scholars in-residence Scheme to Commence From Tomorrow

<p><br />Five Innovation Scholars selected under the Innovation Scholars-in residence scheme of Rashtrapati Bhavan will stay at Rashtrapati Bhavan for a period of twenty days from tomorrow (July 1 to July 20, 2014).</p><p>Innovators who will stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan are Shri Gurmail Singh Dhonsi who invented Rapid Compost Aerator and Tree Pruner, Shri Dharamveer Kamboj who invented Multipurpose processing machine, Ms. Manisha Mohan who invented Society Harnessing Equipment (SHE), Shri M.B. Avinash who invented Self-cleaning functional molecular material and Shri Tenith Adithyaa who invented Banana Leaf Technology and Adjustable Electricity Extension Board. (Brief details of innovators is attached)</p><p>During their stay at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Innovators will interact with concerned ministries, research institutions, etc for possible support for product development and commercialization of their products.</p><p>The Innovation Scholars In-Residence Scheme was launched by the President of India on December 11, 2013 with a view to promoting the spirit of innovation and giving further impetus to grassroots innovation activities. The main objective of the Scheme is to provide an environment to grassroots innovators in Rashtrapati Bhavan to work on a project in hand and take their innovative ideas forward. It also aims to provide them with linkages to technical institutions to strengthen their capacity to innovate and to provide mentoring and support so that the innovations can be used for the progress and welfare of society.</p><p class="last-word">This release issued at 1630 hrs</p>
