I am delighted to visit the G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science for Women today. I congratulate all the stakeholders of the Institute for celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year. It is heartening to see a huge gathering of young and spirited women engineers here today.

I convey my heartiest congratulations to all the officer trainees. You all deserve high praise for your merit, proven by your getting into the much-respected service.

It is my great pleasure to be here today, among such bright and enthusiastic young minds. I would like to begin by recognising the rich history and noble mission of the Keshav Memorial Educational Society. Founded in 1940 by Sri Vinayak Rao Vidyalankar in honor of his father, Justice Keshav Rao Koratkar, this institution has lived upto its motto of, ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’ that means knowledge provides immortal wisdom. It is a commitment to not only imparting conventional knowledge, but also to moulding students into good citizens with strong character.

I congratulate you all for your selection in the Indian Forest Service. A long career full of challenges and opportunities awaits you. You are the guardians of our rich and diverse forest wealth. You are also protectors of the heritage and culture of our forest dwelling communities. I am glad to be participating in the Human Rights Day celebration organised by the National Human Rights Commission. It is an important occasion for the whole of humankind, as it was on this day in 1948 that the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, also known as UDHR.

I am happy to interact with the young officers and trainees of Indian Police Service, Indian Revenue Service, Indian Postal Service, Indian Railway Accounts Service and Indian Radio Regulatory Service.

First of all I congratulate you all for clearing the prestigious competitive examinations conducted by UPSC and completing a major part of your training. I am told that some of you are already posted as officers. I am also told that two officer trainees of Bhutan Royal service are also present here today. I welcome both the officers.

First of all I congratulate you all on this Navy Day. Today I am pleased to attend the Navy Day Celebrations in Visakhapatnam, the Jewel of the East Coast. Visakhapatnam has a rich history, and being the headquarters of Eastern Naval Command, and an industrial and port city, it has emerged as an important hub paving way for India’s secure future.

I am glad to be here today on the historic occasion of Constitution Day. On this day 73 years ago, the Constituent Assembly adopted this document of our collective destiny. We are commemorating today the adoption of the Constitution that has not only guided the journey of the Republic over the decades, but has also inspired several other nations in the drafting of their constitutions.
