1. I am happy to be here today to attend the second annual convocation of the Central University of Karnataka. It is one of the sixteen central universities started in 2009. These universities were mostly established in the backward regions of the country to make higher education more accessible to the people.

I am delighted to be here today on this historic occasion. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurological Sciences – or NIMHANS, as we know it, has long been recognized for its outstanding contribution in the area of mental health. Beginning its journey as far back as in 1850, NIMHANS has, today, evolved into a foremost Institute of National Importance.

1.At the outset, I would like to express my sincere thanks for extending me the invitation for the Foundation Stone laying ceremony of the State cancer Institute at this prestigious Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bengaluru.

1. It is my privilege to inaugurate the Vedapathasala at Ai-Bhimavaram today. I am sure this Vedapathasala will emerge as a centre for promoting Vedic knowledge, oral traditions and our heritage. I congratulate the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for taking this initiative of opening a Vedapathasala for the benefit of the students pursuing Vedic education.

I am delighted to be amongst you today at the inauguration of the 98th annual conference of the Indian Economic Association (IEA). I have had a long association with IEA and, therefore, when an opportunity presented to renew that association, in the form of an invitation from Dr. Kaushik Basu to inaugurate the present session, I readily accepted.

मैं Indian Forest Service के 2022 बैच के सभी प्रशिक्षु अधिकारियों को बधाई देती हूँ। मुझे बताया गया है कि इस बैच में 10 महिला अधिकारी हैं। आप सभी महिला अधिकारियों को मैं विशेष बधाई देती हूँ क्योंकि आप समाज के प्रगतिशील बदलाव की प्रतीक हैं। मैं आशा करती हूँ कि आने वाले समय में महिला अधिकारियों की संख्या और भी बढ़ेगी।
