01. I welcome all of you to the historic Rashtrapati Bhavan. You have just entered into a new career which will give you an opportunity to shoulder immense responsibilities at a young age. You can serve the nation and the people of the country by serving through the public services.

It gives me immense pleasure to be here today at Air Force Station Jamnagar, one of the oldest and premier air bases of the Indian Air Force, to award the ‘President’s Standard’ to 119 Helicopter Unit and Colours to 28 Equipment Depot. These distinguished Units have a glorious past and rich traditions of professional excellence.

I extend a very warm welcome to the delegates for the Festival of Innovation, 2016 and the Global Roundtable on Inclusive Innovations. I am delighted to see that the Roundtable has once again attracted an impressive galaxy of scholars, practitioners and thinkers from around the world and India.

1.I am delighted to join this distinguished gathering of judges, legal luminaries, members of the Bar and other dignitaries for the inauguration of the sesquicentennial celebrations of the Allahabad High Court.

1.Let me begin by congratulating the winners of the Visitor’s Awards, 2016 – Tezpur University in the category of Best University; and the scientists from Jawaharlal Nehru University in both research and innovation. These Awards are a recognition of your years of sincere effort and hard work.

I am delighted to be here at ‘India Aviation 2016’, which is the confluence of industry leaders of the civil aviation sector from India and across the globe.

1.I am happy to attend this summarization session of the Roundtable on "financing of innovations” with leaders of the banking and finance industry. This Round-table is a part of the ongoing Festival of Innovations 2016. I congratulate National Innovation Foundation and the organizers of this Roundtable – NABARD and SIDBI – for smooth conduct of this programme.

1.First of all, I would like to congratulate all the participants of this Hackathon for Social Innovations which was held today. I am told that they all arrived quite early this morning to participate in this twelve-hour long event. This shows not only the enthusiasm but also a deep commitment on the part of these young and brilliant minds for the cause of nation and society.

1.I am happy to be here this afternoon for the first convocation of Swami Rama Himalayan University. From my brief observation, I find that this campus represents a clean, green and serene setting for imparting higher education.

1.I am indeed very happy to be present amidst you to present the National Geoscience Awards for the year 2014. This is an opportunity for us to honor individuals and teams of scientists for their outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of fundamental and applied geosciences, mining and allied areas. I congratulate all of you on your success and achievements.
