Trained as an economist and lawyer, Shri Ramaswamy Venkataraman was born on 4th December, 1910 in Tamil Nadu. He participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942. He served as the Member of Parliament, Union Finance Minister and Defence Minister before being elected as Vice-President in 1984 and later as the President of India from 1987-1992. He was the member of the Constituent Assembly which drafted the Constitution of India. He died on 27 January 2009.

G. R. Santosh was a prominent Indian artist from the State of Jammu and Kashmir known for his interests in the Shaivite themes. He was also an avid poet and joined the Progressive Arts Association in Kashmir in 1950.
