Christmas Carole Programme Not To Be Held At Rashtrapati Bhavan This Year

The traditional programme of Christmas celebrations which includes the singing of Christmas carols shall not be held this year at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
This year, the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has decided that in view of the terrorists' attacks in Mumbai, the festivities should not be held as a mark of respect for the victims of the attacks.
However, Rashtrapati Bhavan has sent grocery items such as Rice, Sugar, Dal and Ghee to orphanages in Delhi on behalf of the President on the occasion of Christmas.
