Students From Assam Call On The President

A group of students from Assam called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (July 6, 2013).
Addressing the students, the President congratulated the efforts made by the Assam Rifles for organizing the National Integration Tour (NIT) as a result of which students would get the desired motivation to join the mainstream of India. The President stated that when the students get to see the various parts of India, they would feel proud to belong to this dynamic and progressive country which is trying to occupy its rightful place in the comity of nations.
The students are in Delhi as part of the National Integration Tour organized by Assam Rifles (East) to commemorate the First Anniversary of Raising of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East). They are from extremely backward districts of South Assam and represent various tribes of the North East Region.
