President of India’s Message on the Eve of National Day of Kyrgyz Republic

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Kyrgyz Republic on the eve of their IndependenceDay(August 31, 2015).

In his message toHis Excellency Mr. Almazbek Atambaev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the President has said, "On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, I have the pleasure to extend to you and to the people of the Kyrgyz Republic warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your Independence Day.

We, in India, admire the progress being made by the Kyrgyz Republic in establishing a parliamentary form of government with strong democratic institutions.

India and the Kyrgyz Republic enjoy traditionally close relations based on our shared values and historical and cultural linkages. India is committed to strengthening and expanding our bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of our two peoples.

In this context, the recent visit of Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi to the Kyrgyz Republic has not only consolidated our bilateral relationship, but has also opened up new avenues for enhancing the trade and economic cooperation between India and the Kyrgyz Republic.

I would like to take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your personal well being and the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Kyrgyz Republic.”
