I am indeed delighted to be with you in this beautiful environment. My greeting to all Officers,Junior Commissions Officers, Warrant Officers, Jawans and Airmen of Head Quarter Northern Command ,Head Quarter AOC J&K and Air Force Station, Udhampur. I am extremely proud of your accomplishments in various operations in Jammu & Kashmir; in particular operations SAFED SAGAR during Kargil conflict. Well co-ordinate operation between Army and Air Force resulted in a quick decisive victory for our Nation. I am sure you will keep this spirit up in all your future missions.

At this stage I would like to share my experience with you which I had during my visit to Siachen. While talking to young officers I asked them "What can be your Vision". There were many answers. One of the young officers said "our vision should be to get back the entire land which we have lost to China and Pakistan. What could be a better Vision that this?

I am aware of the difficult operational environment and complex responsibilities of your units in this sector. Apart from providing close air support to Army operations you have carried out evacuation missions and civilians during floods, accidents and terrorist attacks.

The Government is well aware of hardships being faced by our Army and Air Force personal deployed in such areas. We are making all our efforts to improve the quality of life our Armed Forces personnel operating in far flung areas. Apart from providing opportunity to speak to your families, efforts to send more troops on leave by air are some of the measures being taken to improve the quality of life.

Before, I conclude, I want to assure you that the entire Nation is with you in this honourable duty. We are all very proud of the our Armed Forces and their achievements
